Building Specialties
This environmentally sensitive project required that MRJ take extra steps to ensure that construction of the15,000 square foot retail and office building did not impact the adjacent Peters Creek. Due to extremely poor soils the building required a wood piling foundation. The project included all site-work, building structure and tenant improvements. In addition to all the new construction, MRJ was also responsible for the renovation of the existing occupied facility.
Although the project site was “grandfathered” to allow close construction to the adjacent Peters Creek, strict water quality standards was required and maintained. To meet the strict requirements, MRJ installed a temporary storm drainage system to contain all site runoff in holding tanks. The storm water and sediments were then separated and treated before being discharged into Peters Creek. The water quality of the discharge was superior to the water quality of the creek.
