ERA Living-IDA Culver Retirement project
The Ida Culver House Broadview is a large retirement center consisting of five multi-story interconnected buildings. MRJ remodeled the 6,000 square feet dining room in two phases, leaving half of the space open for business as usual while the other half was under construction. The plush new finishes included five vaulted-curved ceilings, fine woodworking, red granite counters, bar-top, fireplace surrounds, acoustic panels, wall coverings, plush carpets, new chandeliers, new lighting, and a new HVAC system. Great care and planning were required to ensure the safety of residents and facility personnel, as well as to mitigate construction noise, dust, and material handling. Once the dining room was completed, MRJ added eleven housekeeping/janitor rooms, two nursing stations, two ADA shower restrooms, remodeled the resident laundry room and the soiled laundry room, and added individual air-conditioning units to seven existing elevator equipment rooms.
